Junhua Liu, Ph.D in AI, B.Eng (Hons), SUTD
Founder & Director
Junhua founded Qlassroom with a vision to empower education using Artificial Intelligence, which is his PhD thesis at Singapore University of Technology and Design. During his PhD, Junhua published over 9 academic papers in the area of Deep Learning and Educational Technology. All research works are published on internationally top conferences and journals, including the European Conference of Machine Learning (ECML), ACM Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing (CSCW), IEEE Big Data, Physical Review Letters (PRL) and Science China. Junhua was named the Singapore IT Youth of 2013 by the Singapore Computer Society, and one of the Singapore Aspiring Tech Leaders by IMDA (formally IDA) in 2015.
Currently, Junhua serves as an adjunct lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic School of Computing, teaching full-time diploma students on computing-related modules. Junhua also serves as a research collaborator at the SUTD-MIT International Design Center for several projects related to Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Design Education. In the startup community, Junhua is an alumnus of Y Combinator Startup School in 2018 and Entrepreneur First Singapore in 2017.
Cheng Yuen Ong, B.Eng (Hons), SUTD
Tech Lead
As the Technology Lead, Cheng Yuen leads the development team at Qlassroom to develop an in-house adaptive learning platform to facilitate our students' learning. Cheng Yuen holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) from the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Prior to his degree, Cheng Yuen graduated from Raffles Institution receiving 4As for his GCE A-Levels, and a Raffles Diploma with Distinction in Character and Leadership and Sports and Health.
Beyond his excellent academic records, Cheng Yuen was the Vice President and Dance Captain of SUTD Hip Hop Dance Club, and a school team player representing SUTD in Singapore University Games for Badminton. He was also a Singapore Representative in ASEAN School Games from 2009 to 2011 for Raffles Institution's badminton team.
Chin Yih Soh, M.Arch (Hons), B.Sc (Hons), SUTD
Product Lead
As the Product Lead, Chin Yih leads the UI/UX design and product management efforts in Qlassroom. Chin Yih received his Master's and Bachelor's degrees (with Honours) in Architecture and Sustainable Design from Singapore University of Technology and Design. Before joining Qlassroom, Chin Yih has nearly half a decade of experience practising design and project management in architecture.
In a construction project, early-stage planning and communication can result in a notable improvement on project outcome and timeline. Chin Yih believes that education is analogical to an early stage of planning, but for people. During the early stages of life, learners spend the majority of their time on exploration and learning. It has reflected how important society perceives education for a person's life.
Roxy Chang, Bachelors in Education, NTCU
Academic Lead (Chinese)
As the Academic Lead of Chinese, Roxy is in charge of all Chinese classes at Qlassroom. She has over 4 years of experience teaching Chinese full-time. She is passionate about teaching and loves to see the students learn and grow from her class. She strongly believes that to score well, we have to make students fall in love with the subject first. That's why she often integrates games & activities in her class to make the process more enjoyable.

Matthias Yao
Lead Independent Director, iFast
Mr Yao is Qlassroom's angel investor and advisor since day one. Mr Yao is formerly the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Senior Minister of State, Mayor, and Deputy Chairman for NTUC Income. Mr Yao entered the private sector after retirement from political office in 2011, having served 30 years from 1980 to 2011 in the Singapore Civil Service, Government Ministries and statutory bodies. Mr Yao was also engaged, and still is, in a number of the social sectors, social enterprise, and corporate governance roles in an advisory or non-executive capacity. Now Mr Yao focused on private investing and helping organisations unlock their intrinsic strengths.
Kristin L. Wood
Senior Associate Dean and Professor, University of Colorado Denver
Professor Wood is the advisor for Qlassroom’s education and product design. Professor Wood has been appointed with key roles in design and establishes multiple University academic programmes including the fourth national university of Singapore, SUTD, as the Associate Provost for Graduate Studies, a Professor of Engineering and Product Development. Professor Wood has published more than 550 refereed articles and books, has received more than 100 national and international awards in design, research, and education, and consulted with more than 100 companies (MNCs, SMEs, and startups) and government organizations on Design Innovation and Design Thinking.
Kwan Hui LIM
Assistant Professor, Singapore University of Technology and Design
Professor Lim is the advisor for the research and development in Artificial Intelligence and Adaptive Learning in Qlassroom. Professor LIM is an Assistant Professor at the Information Systems Technology and Design Pillar, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and leads the Social and Urban Analytics Lab. Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the School of Computing and Information Systems, University of Melbourne, Research Engineer at the Living Analytics Research Centre, Singapore Management University, Research Intern at IBM Research – Australia, and various visiting appointments. Professor Lim received his PhD from the University of Melbourne, and MSc (Research) and BCompSci (1st Class Honours) from the University of Western Australia. Professor Lim is a recipient of the 2016 Google PhD Fellowship in Machine Learning.
